My Friend the Earworm King strikes again, this time with a clip from Phineas and Ferb, one of my my kids’ favorite shows.
This video not only puts self-doubt in its place and reverses the negative mantra, it pays homage to the Blues Brothers and makes librarianship look almost as cool as it really is.
Check it out*:
Also, I’ve been humming it for three days straight. And now it’s your turn!

*Library humor! Whew—if I’m not careful , I’ll be telling dirty Melvil Dewey stories and punning from the AACR2.
My kids discovered this show while we were holed up in a hotel near Dutch Wonderland. We were all instantly smitten. This particular segment could easily translate to Broadway, don’tchathink?
Absolutely! This entire episode could easily work on stage with a little costume magic.
Or maybe a more casual venue would be better – I’d love to see Perry and Doofenschmirtz on ice!
Ha! Love this … Especially the band name: Lovehandle. That could be my band!
“I got about as much rhythm as that chair…”
Word.
(Somewhat tangentially, but staying with librarian humour, I read The Legend of Spuds Murphy by Eoin Colfer over Xmas with the kids – do you know it?)
No, I don’t—but I just checked out the Amazon description.
Spuds is the librarian? A ninja librarian? Love it!
And this line: “Reading. It’s perfect. How can you get into trouble reading a book?”
You can construct puns from the AACR2?
I’m not saying it’s easy . . .
