Band of Brothers

I know this speech was written well before the American Revolution, in another country, about another war.

But it is the first thing I think of when I hear Land of the Free, Because of the Brave. Specifically, this version:

In the excitement of days off, hot dogs, sales, and fireworks, let’s take some time to remember those who paid the first installment on our country’s freedom.

And, most importantly, that freedom can never be bought—only rented.

We all have to pay the price.  Over and over.
