______________
Another six from my probably ex-drawer novel. Reynard Times-Courier, intrepid cyberstalker, has just told our slightly stressed heroine that he wants to help her find the truth:
“About what?”
He waved an antennaed finger: Tsk tsk tsk. “About Monica Hermandine-Mykota and Moonshot Base.”
“And supposing I even give a good goddamn, why would you want to help?”
“I want,” he said, displaying small sharp teeth in a beatific smile, “the exclusive.” The word rolled off his tongue with orgasmic intensity.

Is there any other way for a true reporter to say the word *exclusive*? EX-drawer novel. *happy dance*
i don’t know, but it seemed to fit this reporter!
Thanks for all the encouragement, Wendy!
The first time I read this scene, I got chills. It was the same today. I love Reynard’s intensity and how Clyota’s reluctance doesn’t faze him. Wonderful six, Sarah.
Thanks, Lisa. They aren’t quite an irresistible force and immovable object, but close . . . 🙂
I’m liking this orgasmic intensity. Good description.
Thanks, Carrie!
What an intriguing bit of dialogue. Love the way you describe him. Great six.
I’ll confess, I couldn’t tell how trustworthy he was until much later in the book. 🙂
And to him it was orgasmic! You built his character and story line so well and this is one of those moments that highlight him so well…
Thanks, Angela! 🙂
“small sharp teeth in a beatific smile”
This. This is what you do so well. That phrase says so much and frames what is going on beautifully.
I just calls ’em as I sees ’em. 🙂
I’m cracking up over the waving, antennaed finger. Brilliant!
He’s got an odd sense of humor in there somewhere, I think. 🙂
My gut says not to believe him.
Guess we’ll find out soon enough. Maybe.
