Six Sentence Sunday is open to all writers. Just pick a six sentence passage from anything you’ve written—published, unpublished, whatever—and post it on your blog on Sunday.
Registration for the upcoming Sunday list opens the previous Tuesday evening at 5pm CST. More information is here.
Here’s another six from my probably-not-drawer novel.
It’s been a busy morning for Clyota . . . and someone called the police:
The female officer escorted me to my bedroom and looked around as I pulled clothes from my bureau. I dropped the robe, and the officer drew in a breath. “Where’d you get the scars?”
“Basic training,” I said, zipping my jeans.

LOL Love this six! And take it all the way out of the drawer!!! 🙂
I guess I have, really, Jessica, but it’s a handy place to keep it until I have time to do a complete rewrite. 🙂
I love the Library! Great six!
Thanks, Wendy! 🙂
OMG! LMAO! The “library” was a surprise ending to this. I can just see the officer’s reaction.
I believe her hand might have dropped to her gun . . . 😀
LOL, wonder how he’s going to react to that!
With extreme caution, I think. 😀
I love that in this world it is the norm that librarians are the toughest. It’s seriously one of the coolest elements I’ve ever read in a book and this six is a great showcase of it.
Thanks, Lisa—finally the outsides match the insides. 🙂
That cracked me up! I love this world you’ve created!
🙂 That’s right, never screw with a librarian. They’re badass!
Yes. Yes we are. 😀
LOL! Love your snippet! 🙂
Thanks, Lorraine! 🙂
Totally plausible. On school vacation days I see the beating our librarians take.
You aren’t kidding, MSB! 😀
I think you nailed both the jacket cover AND the outside blurb with this post…
You know, my birthday is coming up and this jacket comes in my size . . . 😉
Wow! LOL This one doesn’t belong in a drawer. Great six!
