Just another day at Newcastle’s Haymarket Bus Station . . .
The wonderfully talented Andy Jackson encouraged everyone to help him play. The baby grand was provided by the intrepid Tyneside Piano Company.
This community performance was part of an “Art on Transport” project and, in my opinion, beats Musak hands down.
This was so fun to watch. And beautiful to listen to. It’s a very inclusive project and an inclusive video. Thanks for sharing.
I think it’s as fun to watch as a flash mob orchestra—and people are supposed to play along! 🙂
(whispering: I wish you had a like button.) I was here, and I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing!
I’m glad you liked it, Maddie!
(there should be a like button somewhere around here . . . )
The pressman is so inntriguing!
I flat out love him, which is . . . weird, I think?
Why don’t I ever come across some cool dude in a tux asking me to play piano with him? I wish there were more experiences like this in life!
Me, too.
Maybe we need to hire a cool guy in a tux to play piano in our libraries. . .
How much more beautiful the world would be if we had more things like this happening in the most commonplace locations, like bus stops!
This reminds me of the world-class violinist who played in a DC metro station. Very few people appeared to recognize what a treat they were getting. Children, interestingly, were most drawn in. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/04/AR2007040401721.html
Joshua Bell!!! Ignored?!! NO!
I saw him in concert once and holy COW he’s . . . He’s Joshua Bell!
Then again, if I was late. . . I’d like to think I’d stop . . .
Maddie is right. You are “Like” button-less!
But “like” would be inadequate for this post. I need a “Love” button. Wonderful!
I’m glad you liked it, Mike—and I’m glad you and your family are safe!
(Hmmm—people have hit like for my stuff . . . I’ll take a look at my settings)
