After last week Clyota is pretty sure she knows who killed the Pressman’s wife–one John Anderson-Smith, on behalf of the Gladstone-Klein Corporation—but she doesn’t know why, after granting Jessica Sentinel-Beacon the Exclusive to the MoonShot story, that G-K would want her dead.
Being Clyota, she asks.
“There is no proof, but I know it,” he said. “I know it. She was electrocuted, her data files erased without need for override codes. The datacrystals are gone, no doubt crushed to powder.” He shook his head. “She was given the exclusive only so one simple murder would kill the entire story.”

I might have been quiet lately, but I’ve been following this. Still loving it 🙂
Thanks, Sarah—I was wondering how you were!
Chilling moment of discovery!
I was hoping so, Angela—thanks!
There’s a lot of deception there. I wonder how much more she will uncover. Nice six! 🙂
About 50,000 words worth, I think . . . 🙂
That sounds like a horrible murder method!
Yeah . . . People who are half metal don’t react well to electro-magnetic pulses.
Very ominous! If she’s too close to the truth… she’d better watch out!
Oh, yes. Several influential people are willing to do anything (or hire anyone) to make sure certain secrets stay secret . . .
Yes, electromagnetic devices are very vulnerable. And kill the journalist to kill the story is not exactly new, and I don’t mean in fiction.
Ah, a conspiracy?
Possibly. 😉
There is a real sense of the coldness of the villians in their shared acknowledgement of the situation. Subtle yet profound.
My stuff doesn’t get “profound” much, Kristal—thanks!
Nice. I love mysteries.
Thanks, Lyric!
So few words for such a crushing realization. And the worst part is this is so familiar. Because it can (and I’m sure has) happened. Sorry for such a late reply. A little loopy from being sick.
You are never late, Lisa—everyone else is early. 😉
Hurry up and feel better (no pressure)!
Wow. This is pretty deep. I bet this is one amazing story!
