______________
For those of you who wondered about Clyota’s reaction to last week’s six, here ’tis:
Used again.
I realized that it was stupid to care; it was a given that the Pressman had been using me to get a story, and I had made obvious assumptions about his motivation—it never would have occurred to me that the story might not be his primary focus. Why it mattered that he had a personal reason rather than a professional one, I didn’t know, or why it hurt, just a little, that he hadn’t told me any of this before.
I rolled my eyes. After all, it was all about me and my feelings, wasn’t it?
Or maybe the problem was that it never seemed to be about me?

Human emotions are such a tangled thing. 🙂 and last week’s six were awesome, too. 🙂
They really are—if they weren’t, novels would be a lot shorter. Thanks, Wendy!
Oh, I just want to give her a hug. Great six! 🙂
There are hugs, Jessica—just not right now. 🙂
Ouch. Can feel her frustration and pain.
Good! Well, I mean . . . oh, you know what I mean. 🙂
Her reaction to his reveal last week is spot on, but… poor Clyota!
I’m glad you think so, Lorraine. And yeah, I beat her up some—I do feel bad about it, though.
He’s using her–but is she using him, as well?
Well . . . yeah. But he sort of engineered that, in a way.
One of the eternal questions.
Why am I not the center of the universe? Yeah, I ask that one a lot, Lisa. 🙂
Nice show of inner turmoil.
Thanks, Cara!
Very realistic portrayal of her inner conflict!!
Thanks, Angela—she learns a lot about her own assumptions during this novel. So did I, so it’s only fair. 🙂
Oh, very sad. I hope things get better for her.
They do, Dianne. But not quite yet. 😉
I can really emphasize with her, having been through a similar situation at least once. It’s tough to realize someone’s motivations weren’t what we assumed.
Methinks Clyota’s got some issues! (Which always makes for interesting character development.)
Ohhh, yeah, she does, Odie. Many. 🙂
Great introspection in this six!
