Crying into my Whiskey–in a GOOD Way

Yes, the following video is a commercial.

It is possibly the best commercial I have ever seen—but not necessarily for the product it’s supposedly selling.

Oddly, that masterful stroke is probably going to sell tons of that product, but I don’t care. I do care a hell of a lot about what the rest of the ad is promoting, though.

And while I’d like to think that the company had altruistic motives as well as commercial ones, it doesn’t really matter.

What matters is—no, here, see for yourself:

At the very least, the advertising team that created “The Reader” deserves all the awards and owes me a box of tissues.

A big box.

    • I agree. I only hope that it also encourages adults who can’t read very well or at all that learning how is not an embarrassment but a great achievement.

  1. That’s just amazing. The story really touches on the emotions, and you have to admire the commercial for its artistry, too. I don’t drink whisky, but I’m going to share this video with a bunch of people, which is perhaps what they were hoping for.

Talk to me!
